Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health
Maternal health is closely linked to newborn survival because illness vulnerabilities can be passed down from mother to child. Maternal and infant mortality has emerged as a major public health issue in Nepal. To ensure that women and newborns remain healthy before, during, and after childbirth, Shelter Ashraya Nepal works for evidence-based policies and programs as well as better coordination with a beneficiary and domestic resources and approaches which includes supporting the development, testing, and scaling up of innovative strategies to address possible risks contributing to poor health.
