Child Protection

Child Protection

Every child has the right to live in a safe environment free of violence, exploitation, and abuse. Exposure to unsafe environments can negatively impact the physical, emotional, mental and, social development of the child, and the damage is often permanent. These can have a negative impact on a child or adolescent's physical or emotional health, development, and well-being. We believe that creating a safe environment for all children up to the age of 18 is necessary to protect them from abuse and exploitation. Shelter Ashraya Nepal works towards strengthening child protection systems; ending child marriage; protecting street-connected family-based alternative care, adolescent participation and engagement, and mental health and psychosocial support; and preventing child labour and violence against children.
